About Tommie Frazier
Tommie Frazier is known as one of the best college football quarterbacks of all time and quite possibly the best one to never play in the NFL. Frazier was under center for the Nebraska Corn Huskers from 1992-1995, beginning with the final 7 games of his true freshman season. During that span, Frazier led some of the most dominant college football teams in history, leading the Corn Huskers to three straight National Championship games where he helped win two of them (’94, ’95). Frazier is only one of a handful of quarterbacks since the ‘50s to win back-to-back National Championship games and is the only player to ever win 3 straight National Championship MVP Awards. While at Nebraska, he racked up 5,476 total yards with 79 touchdowns which all came with a 45-4 record as a starter. Following his College Football Hall of Fame career, Frazier was passed over by NFL scouts due to blood clots in his legs which was a side-effect of his Crohn’s Disease. He had a brief professional stint in the Canadian Football League but retired from the game after a trip to the hospital due to pneumonia.
