About Tony Watson
Tony Watson is a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was a standout starting pitcher at the University of Nebraska before being selected in the 9th round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Watson made his major league debut in 2011 and ended up posting a 3.95 ERA in 43 games. He became one of the Pirates top arms out of the bullpen in 2012, making 68 appearances and registering a 3.38 ERA. Watson continued to develop into one of the best relievers in baseball. In 2014, he went 10-2 with a 1.63 ERA and led the National League with 78 appearances. He was also selected to the NL All-Star team. Watson became the Pirates closer midway through the 2016 season. He was traded to the first-place Dodgers at the trade deadline in 2017. Watson had a 2.70 ERA down the stretch and helped Los Angeles reach the World Series.
