About Victor Scott II
Victor Dwanyne Scott II (born February 12, 2001) is an American professional baseball center fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals' outfield gained a vital player through Victor Dwanyne Scott II when he debuted in MLB during March 2024 because of his exceptional speed and defensive skills and base-stealing abilities.
The Atlanta Georgia native Victor Dwanyne Scott II developed his baseball skills at West Virginia University before setting a program record with 38 stolen bases during his college season. The combination of his impressive athletic abilities and strong work ethic attracted MLB scouts who drafted him as a fifth-round pick by the Cardinals during the 2022 MLB Draft.
Scott demonstrated outstanding performance in the minor leagues by becoming the Minor League Baseball leader in stolen bases with 94 in 2023 and receiving a Rawlings Gold Glove Award for his defensive skills. The Cardinals selected Scott to represent their organization at the MLB Futures Game so he could display his abilities to a wider audience.
The major league roster has recognized Scott for his base-running speed and his quick outfield instincts as well as his consistent hitting performance. His athletic development stems from his parents who were track athletes because this experience taught him dedication and competitive spirit.
