About Matthew Silverman
Matthew Silverman is the Tampa Bay Rays president of baseball operations. Silverman first transitioned to the role of being team president in 2014. He was originally namedpresident in 2005 and oversaw a period of unprecedented success for the franchise. Silverman previously worked with Rays owner Stuart Sternberg at Goldman Sachs and helped him purchase the franchise. He is the board chairman of Starting Right and chairman of the board for the Positive Coaching Alliance-Tampa Bay. Silverman won the George M. Steinbrenner III Citizen of the Year Award in 2010. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University.
