About Dusty May
Dusty May is the head men's basketball coach at Michigan. May jumped on the national radar while guiding FAU to the Final Four in 2023 and back to the NCAA Tournament in 2024.
May's FAU team spent several weeks ranked in the top 25 during the season, which was a program first. They also captured the Conference USA regular season and Tournament championships, while May was named conference Coach of the Year.
The Owls magical March Madness run came in year five of May's tenure, but he had posted a winning record in each of the previous four seasons on the job. May had previously been an assistant at Florida from 2015-18.
May first got his coaching chops as a student assistant under Bob Knight at Indiana. His first full-time position was as an assistant at Eastern Michigan. May went on to work under former Hoosiers head coach Mike Davis at Murray State and UAB. He also had a long tenure as an assistant at Louisiana Tech from 2009-15.
