About Harry Sinden
Harry Sinden is a former coach, general manager, and President of Hockey Operations for the NHL’s Boston Bruins. Sinden started in hockey as a player, playing a handful of professional seasons as well as winning a silver medal at the 1960 Olympics with the Canadian National team. In 1966, Sinden made his NHL head coaching debut with the Boston Bruins, coaching the team to a Stanley Cup victory in 1970. After the 1970 season, Sinden retired, and did not return to the NHL until 1972, when he became the general manager of the Bruins. Sinden would go on to become the second-longest tenured GM in Bruins’ history, serving the team for 28 years as well as naming himself the club president in 1989. The Bruins experienced great success under Sinden, making the playoffs multiple times and reaching the Stanley Cup Final on five separate occasions. Sinden is now the Senior Advisor to the Owner for the Bruins and is also on the panel for the Hockey Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 1983.
