About Jake Olson
Jake Olson has one of the most inspiring sports stories you will ever hear. Olson competed as a long snapper at the University of Southern California despite losing his eyesight to cancer when he was 12 years old in 2009. He was originally born with retinoblastoma, a cancer of the retina. Olson enrolled at USC as a walk-on long snapper in 2015. He won the 2016 Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Champion Award. In 2017, Olson saw action in two games, successfully snapping the final PAT in each contest. After the Trojans Week 1 game against Western Michigan, he was named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week. Olson continues to inspire others today as a motivational speaker. He has also co-written two books that deal with overcoming adversity. Olson has served on the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.
