Jamie Gold

From an early age, Poker was Jamie Gold’s game of choice. Growing up he played with his parents and grandparents, and eventually developed into one of the best players in the world. In 2005 he began playing in professional tournaments and brought home his first big $50,000 pot in April of that year. Over the next several months he finished in the money at seven California tournaments and went on to win six events in 2006, including the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event. It was that win that launched him into super stardom in the poker world, and set the stage for a career that would make him one of the top 10 money winners of all-time. Although he continues to play poker, he also works as a syndicated poker columnist for over 180 newspapers in the United States and has become one of the nations top philanthropists, raising over $175 million dollars during 125 charitable appearances across the country.
