About Jayson Stark
For four decades, Jayson Stark has been one of the leading baseball writers in America. After graduating from Syracuse's prestigious School of Public Communications, Stark got a job covering the Philadelphia Phillies for his hometown paper, The Philadelphia Inquirer. He eventually was promoted to national baseball writer and columnist. Stark also gained popularity throughout the country via the Baseball Week in Review syndicated column he published from 1983-99. During this time, he was a two-time Pennslyvania Sportswriter of the Year.
In 2000, Stark joined ESPN as a senior writer for ESPN.com. He also appeared on many different shows for the network through 2017. Stark then became a senior baseball writer for The Athletic. Over the years, he has penned several books about baseball. Stark is a member of the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and a recipient of the J.G. Taylor Spink Award presented during the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
