About Jessie Bates III
Jessie Bates III is an NFL safety for the Atlanta Falcons. Hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, he played college football at Wake Forest, earning All-ACC honors. Selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round (54th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft, Bates spent five seasons with the Bengals (2018-2022), establishing himself as one of the league's premier safeties.
In his eight-year NFL career, Bates has played 112 games, recording 20 interceptions, 66 passes defended, 595 tackles, and six forced fumbles. His 2023 season with Atlanta was a career highlight, earning him second-team All-Pro honors and his first Pro Bowl selection with 132 tackles, six interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 11 passes defended.
Bates has been a defensive leader for the Falcons, starting every game since joining. He's also noted for his community involvement, including youth football camps in Fort Wayne.
