About Jim Hart
Jim Hart was a very successful NFL quarterback who spent the majority of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals. The four-time Pro Bowler was the 1974 UPI NFC Offensive Player of the Year. Hart led the Cardinals to three straight ten-plus win seasons in the mid-1970s and two playoff appearances. Offensive guru Don Coryell became St. Louis’ head coach in 1973 and made Hart the starter for the first time. He finished with a final season for the Washington Redskins and ended up with 34,665 passing yards and 209 touchdowns. Hart forged a 19-year NFL career after being signed as an undrafted free agent. He played collegiately at Southern Illinois and served as their athletic director in his post-playing days. In 1998, Hart was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. He currently resides in Naples, Florida and stays active with various charity golf tournaments. Hart helps run the annual Mike Ditka/Jim Hart Celebrity Golf Invitational which benefits the Immokalee Child Care Center.
