About Jonny Moseley
Jonny Moseley grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico and fell in love with the sport of skiing when he made a trip to California at the age of three. Eventually, his family made the move to sunny California, which allowed him to hit the slopes full time as a youngster. During his amateur years he joined the Squaw Valley Freestyle Ski Team and won a Junior National Championship in Freestyle Skiing. Upon graduating from high school in 1993 he joined the United States Ski Team and began his trek to international success. In 1995 he competed in the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships and put himself on the map with a bronze medal performance. Three years later he competed in the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic games and won a gold medal in the Moguls event, making him a national hero. When he returned to the states he arrived to a parade in his honor in his hometown of San Fracisco, and was presented a key to the city. Since his retirement from skiing he has appeared in ads for McDonald’s and Sprint and continues to be an active and valuable ambassador for the sport of freestyle skiing.
