About Lakey Peterson
Lakey Peterson is a Californian surfer who is ranked #3 by the Association of Surfing Professionals in North America and #6 on the ASP Women’s World Ranking. In 2000, at the age of 5, while on a yearlong, around-the-world adventure with her parents and siblings, Peterson learned to surf. Peterson quit surfing for a while and returned when she was 12. At 16, Peterson was surfing in the ASP World Qualifying Series. She is one of the world’s leading female surfers who is known for her progressive aerial maneuvers, athletic force, and her ride through the ranks at a young age. Peterson won the NSSA Open Women’s National Title in 2009 and 2010. She was the ASP North American Regional Champ in 2010 and 2011. During 2011, Peterson was also the runner up at ASP World Tour US Open. In 2012, she was the ASP World Tour US Open of Surfing Champion. Peterson was also ranked #7 in ASP Women’s World Championship Tour in 2012 and 2013.
