About Lloyd Carr
Lloyd Carr played quarterback at the University of Missouri from 1964 to 1966 and finished up his college career at Northern Michigan University in 1967. After earning his degree from Northern Michigan he began his coaching career at Nativity High School in 1968. He’d go on to serve as a high school coach at Belleville and John Glenn from 1970 to 1795 before landing his first college job as an assistant at Eastern Michigan in 1976. Over the next 18 seasons he served as an assistant at Eastern Michigan, Illinois, West Virginia and Michigan. In 1995 he was promoted to head coach at Michigan after serving on their coaching staff for 15 seasons as both a defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator. Coach Carr headed up the Michigan football program from 1995 to 2007 and led the Wolverines to five Big Ten Championships, an NCAA National Championship in 1997, and a 122-40 overall record. His honors during that time include being named the National Coach of the Year in 1997 and the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year in 2007. In 2011 he took his rightful place in the College Football Hall of Fame as one of the greatest coaches to ever live.
