About Mike Quick
Mike Quick is a Philadelphia staple. When he joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 1982 after a stellar career at the North Carolina State as a first round pick he was highly touted as the next great one. Over the next nine seasons he would etch his name into the Eagles record books. In 1983 he led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,409 and followed that up with another 1,247 yard performance in 1985. After both those seasons he earned recognition as an AP First-Team All-Pro. From 1983 to 1987 Quick earned five Pro Bowl selections, and in 1989 he earned the Ed Block Courage Award, which is presented to select NFL players who serve as role models of inspiration, sportsmanship and courage.
When Quick retired and quarterback Ron Jaworski in 1990 they would go down as one of the best wide receiver-quarterback tandems in NFL history. Five years later he was honored with induction into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame. Currently Quick serves as a color commentator for Eagles broadcasts and continues to be an ambassador for the team in several capacities.
