About Rick Horton
Rick Horton had a seven-year big league pitching career, but he is now best known as the St. Louis Cardinals TV analyst on Fox Sports Midwest. Horton began his broadcast career in 1997 on the Cardinals TV and radio broadcasts. St. Louis originally drafted him as a player in the fourth round of the 1980 MLB Draft. Horton won a career-best nine games as a rookie in 1984. He pitched in both the 1985 and 1987 World Series for the Cardinals. Horton would also play for the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers, getting a championship ring with the Dodgers in 1988. The Poughkeepsie, New York native pitched collegiately at the University of Virginia. In addition to his broadcasting duties, Horton is the Director of the St. Louis Area Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He received a National Sportsmanship Award from the St. Louis Sports Commission in 2008 for his community work.
