About Rodney Hampton
After a successful college career at the University of Georgia, Rodney Hampton was drafted by the New York Giants in 1990 with the 24th overall pick in that years Draft. Hampton started right away as running back for the Giants, but his rookie season ended early due to an injury. Hampton returned stronger than ever and from 91-95 he rushed for at least 1,000 yards each season. In 96 he split the carrying load with another back but still rushed for 800 yards before the 97 season when knee surgery forced him to end his career. In his short NFL career, Hampton rushed for almost 7,000 yards, was selected to two Pro Bowls, and won a Super Bowl ring with the Giants in Super Bowl XXV.
