Tommy Nobis began to play football competitively at a young age in high school where he excelled on the field as an All-State offensive end and middle linebacker. Tommy then transitioned to college at the University of Texas at Austin where he became one of college football’s all-time greatest linebackers. He led his team to the 1963 National Championship in route to becoming a two time All-American and a three time All-Southwest team member before being an inductee in the College Football Hall of Fame. Nobis became the number 1 overall selection in the 1966 NFL Draft and went on to play his entire career with the Atlanta Falcons where he recorded a record 294 tackles as a rookie and earned 5 Pro Bowl selections. His impact was so important that his number 60 was retired by both the Falcons and the Texas Longhorns and he has been inducted into three separate sports Halls of Fame.
