About Troy Smith
Troy Smith began his career in football at a young age in high school where he quickly exhibited his skills and was invited to the participate in the Elite 11 competition, featuring the top eleven ranked high school quarterback prospects in the country. Following high school Troy moved on to college playing for the Ohio State University on an athletic scholarship. While he only played sparingly early on, he became the NCAA Quarterback of the Year, recipient of the Davey O'Brien Award, Fiesta Bowl MVP, and the Heisman Trophy winner in 2006 before he entered the NFL Draft and became the 174th overall selection going to the Baltimore Ravens. Once again Smith was relegated to limited playing time, but when he was on the field he produced, including nearly 2,000 passing yards and a career passer rating of 78.5. More recently Troy has made a transition to the CFL where he currently plays for the Montreal Alouettes.
