About Bronco Mendenhall
Bronco Mendenhall is the head football coach at Utah State. Mendenhall is best known for successful stints as a head coach at Brigham Young University and the University of Virginia. In college,Mendenhall was a defensive back at Snow College and Oregon State, butdecided to pursue a coaching career following hisgraduation in 1987.
Mendenhall received his firstcoaching job in 1989 as a graduate assistant with Oregon State, and wouldserve various positionsaround the country with many schools, including Northern Arizona, Snow College, and New Mexico. In2002, Mendenhall was promoted to associate head coach and defensive coordinator at New Mexico,garnering enoughsuccessto be named the head coach at Brigham Young University in 2005 afterserving as the team’s defensive coordinatorfor one season.
With BYU, Mendenhall led the Cougarsto ten winning seasons in 11 years as coach, He compileda 99-43 record and won six bowl games at BYU. In just six seasons at UVA, he finished with the second-most wins in program history.
