About Dewey Tomko
Dewey Tomko is a true American success story. After earning a degree in physical education from Salem College in West Virginia he moved to Florida to teach preschoolers in Haines City in 1960 at the age of 24. For six years he devoted his life to teaching and making a positive impact on the lives of his students. During that time he took up the game of poker and realized he was more than just good, he was great. That led him to pursue a career as a professional poker player and he’s since been one of the top players in the game for more than five decades. His accolades include three World Series of Poker gold bracelets, which is the game’s greatest achievement, and playing in the World Series of Poker Main Event for a record 38 consecutive years. Tomko is a proud member of the both the Poker Hall of Fame and the Gamblers Golf Hall of Fame.
